Literacy Unlocked is hiring!
We are seeking a kind, patient, and experienced literacy tutor to support children with diverse learning needs, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, and anxiety. This is a meaningful opportunity for an educator who is passionate about making literacy accessible and enjoyable for every learner, especially those who benefit from structured, supportive, and individualized instruction.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 literacy instruction tailored to each student’s unique learning profile.
Use evidence-based, structured literacy approaches. Training will be provided in our method and systems.
Build trusting relationships with students that foster confidence and a love for learning.
Create a calm, encouraging environment that supports students with anxiety or attention challenges.
Communicate regularly with families or guardians about student progress.
Maintain clear, supportive, and adaptive lesson plans and records.
Qualifications:
Degree or certification in education, special education, speech-language pathology, or a related field.
Specialized training and experience in structured literacy programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, UFLI)
Proven experience working with students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, and/or anxiety.
A kind, flexible, and compassionate teaching style.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work evenings or weekends in NW Calgary.
Comfortable using technology.
